About Lauren
High school basketball was where it all started! As a young girl, I acquired a passion for sports along with a recognition of how food affected my body.
After a season in high school of battling some health issues, I saw firsthand the effect of activity and lifestyle on my health and how it played out in my everyday life. Because of that, I wanted to go to college for nutrition or chiropractic services to help bring change in other people’s lives for the better.
The plan was derailed temporarily in 11th grade when I had to start fresh at a new school. Laying sports to the side, I graduated high school with a photography scholarship and went on to earn a degree in photographic journalism.
Just like many, my life continued to evolve. I fell in love with my husband of 24 years now. We married and started a family while in our early 20’s. Becoming a wife and mom had become the priority, while still maintaining work in the field of photography. I loved the life that my husband and I were able to provide for our family but in the midst of it, I neglected my own health, forfeited time to work out, didn’t plan healthy meals, fell into lazy habits and didn’t take time to care much about my health.
After having my third child in 2012, I decided it was time to make my way back to the activities I enjoyed and valued. The things that were important in high school and in the early years of our marriage needed to take more priority again. I started taking a spin + TRX class at the YMCA with a friend and got hooked quickly.
It wasn’t till 2016 that I acquired my National Academy Of Sports Medicine training certification and partnered with a local gym that gave me hands on experience as I developed my skills and knowledge. Over the last several years, I have acquired a NASM nutrition certification and the Kettlebell Level 1 Agatsu Fitness certification.
My health journey has had its ups and downs over the last several years. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that has made things more challenging. Throughout my health journey, I have found that a holistic approach has helped me to heal and get stronger.
My approach with my clients is to pair a whole-food diet with effective training strategies to build strength, fight disease, lose weight, and achieve their goals.
I am committed to helping people not just lose weight but heal. I have taken time to educate myself on nutrition and work closely with a doctor so we are aware of a client’s internal and external health.
Everyone’s journey is unique. There is never a one-size-fits-all when it comes to training and nutrition. But my clients and I commit to consistent effort and persistence when it is hard - that is what it takes!
